Between class, sports, clubs and social activities, it’s hard to accomplish all of your daily tasks and still have time to relax. Avoid burning yourself out by following these simple steps:
Pick out an outfit the night before: When you get up in the morning, you should immediately start your routine. Stopping to figure out what to wear that day will waste time and can cause unwanted anxiety or stress.
Plan your day the night before: To become super productive, write down everything that you need to accomplish in the coming day. According to experts, every minute spent in planning saves you 10 minutes in execution.
Use a master to do list: You should have only one to do list containing every single activity you need to get done. Multiple lists can create confusion!
Get up earlier: People are generally the most productive during the first 2 hours after they get up from bed. That’s a great time to get started on your most important tasks!
Meditate for 5 minutes: Meditation is great for relaxing your mind and your body. This time will also allow you to slow down and actually visualize how you want your day to look.
Eat breakfast: If you really don’t have time to stop and eat breakfast at home, take it with you! To save time, prepare a simple healthy grab-and-go meal the night before. Granola bars are the fave-on-the-go breakfast for both Tyler and Dillon residents.
Tricks from Letter 9 residents to be as productive as possible during the week include: preset the coffee pot the night before, plan a study schedule and get plenty of sleep.
We also asked residents what they do when they get overwhelmed with the amount of activities going on in their day-to-day lives. A resident at The Tyler said, “workout and binge watch Netflix shows”; a Dillon resident said, “map out a plan and schedule things apart.” Summer at The James said, “listen to music and write”.
On that note, music is always enjoyable to listen to while getting ready. A resident at The Tyler enjoys listening to Lil Wayne, Rihanna, and Drake. A resident at The Dillon prefers Kings of Leon and Asap Rocky. Nix at The James enjoys Maroon 5, Coldplay, and Jack Johnson.
